Looking for bridal gown inspo before you hit the bridal salons? Below, the 9 bridal gown trends 2020 brides got to know.

Wedding Gowns with Naked Backs

The plunging v-neckline has met its match within the sort of plunging, barely-there backs. From Ines di Santo to Lela Rose, Laure de Sagazan, and Berta, designers were depending on backless to be successful for subsequent crop of brides. sometimes (like at Carolina Herrera and Vera Wang) the trend took on the shape of a keyhole feature on the rear , and at others (like at Rime Arodaky) as a draping cowl-back for a romantic twist on backless. Super High Slits

An Angelina Jolie level slit isn't new the bridal world, but this season designers literally took it up a notch. Daring slits were seen at Ines di Santo, Berta, Eisen-Stein, and Inbal Dror just to call a couple of . But the trend is even more aggressive this season taking over more of a half mini skirt (or barely any skirt) and half floor-length gown. (Above: Berta)

Lingerie Inspired CorsetsIt seems like bridal designers everywhere saw Moulin Rouge on Broadway and got inspired. Corsets and underwire cups were obligatory on the runways this season and therefore the result was a supremely sexy combat lingerie-inspired fashion that calls to even the foremost timid of brides. Butterflies

Maybe it is the ongoing '90s renaissance, maybe it's just bridal designers' love of all things secret gardens, but butterflies were everywhere this season. We loved the trend as a part of a replacement combat floral prints at Monique Lhuillier, and even more as an embroidered accent on a train at Ines di Santo. (Above: Monique Lhuillier)

Pockets

Don't worry 2020 brides, designers are searching for you and your eleventh hour lipstick needs. There's something so charming, and useful, a few bridal gown with pockets—and it's like Inbal Dror, Eisten-Stein, Caroline Castigliano, and more, agree. (Above: Rebecca Schoneveld)

Off-the-shoulder Puff Sleeves

Off-the-shoulder wedding dresses aren't going anywhere, and each season they get a replacement lease on life by way of a small trend upgrade. For 2020, designers were depending on big sleeves to update the ever present neckline.
